I have had some questions about virus protection on Android devices. The general consensus is that this level of protection is not really required. There are a number of articles available online which answer this question in great detail. To summarise though, The Google Play Store (and the Apple Apps Store for that matter) have a heap of checks to make sure that apps are safe for publication. If you don't "Root" your device (which involves hacking your device to allow you to install apps from outside the Play Store) then you are not opening yourself to any possible problems. This article by Ryan Whitwam from Extreme Tech sums it up nicely https://www.extremetech.com/computing/104827-android-antivirus-apps-are-useless-heres-what-to-do-instead
