Online Shopping - Pros & Cons

For many of us, shopping for groceries online can be a daunting prospect. We’re used to going to the store, browsing the shelves, and picking up what we need. But with the rise of online grocery stores, shopping for groceries doesn’t have to be an arduous or time-consuming task. Online grocery stores offer a great option for elderly people, those without easy access to transport, and those who are just looking for a more convenient way to shop. But there are many more advantages to shopping for groceries online than most people realise.

Shopping online can save time. When it’s convenient for you – such as during a train journey – you can add items to your cart and have them delivered to your door. You don’t have to worry about rushing around, dealing with traffic and crowds, or enduring the noise of a busy store. Shopping online can also be more relaxing, and you can stick to your budget more easily as the total cost of your basket is tallied as you go. Plus, it’s a great option for parents who want to do their grocery shopping without their kids in tow.

When you shop online, you can easily compare prices and stock levels, and you can save on fuel costs. Plus, there’s less chance of impulse buying as you have to add items to your basket one by one.

Of course, there are some downsides to online grocery shopping. Delivery costs can be high (although it's cheaper with click-and collect or direct to boot), and you won’t be able to see reduced-price items or clearance items at the store. Also, there’s no cash payment option, so you’ll need to use a credit or debit card, and you can't personally select particular items like fruit and vegetables.

When it comes to safety, credit card transactions are considered safe and are backed up by the banks.

Try c
anstarblue.com.au for a breakdown of places to buy from.

Try
Frugl App (available from the app stores), Lasoo.com.au for catalogues and search options or Smartcart - a Google Chrome extension that compares Coles and Woolies.

There are a number of online grocery stores to choose from, such as Coles, Woolworths, some IGAs and more. So, if you’re looking for an easier way to shop for groceries, why not give online grocery shopping a try? You just might find that the convenience and ease of shopping for groceries online outweighs the cons.

Shared Grocery Lists

12/12/2022

Shared grocery lists can be an invaluable tool when tackling the weekly shopping. Whether you’re looking to save time, money, or simply make the process a bit more streamlined, having multiple people being able to access the same list can make life a little easier.

The easiest way to get started with a shared grocery list is to use the Google App and Google Keep App. Both of these apps are available for Android, Apple, and Windows users, so regardless of which device you’re using, you’ll be able to access shared lists.

For Android users, the apps can be easily downloaded from the Google Play Store. Apple users will find the apps in the Apple App Store, while Windows users can go to keep.google.com and login to their account.

Once the apps are installed, you’ll need to set up your list or note. To do this, simply tap your profile icon and then select ‘Settings’ followed by ‘Google Assistant’ and then ‘Notes & Lists’. Once you’ve done this, you can tap ‘Select Notes & Lists Provider’ and select ‘Google Keep’. Now you’re ready to create your note or list.

At the bottom right of the list, you’ll find the option to select collaborators. This will enable you to easily add other people to your list, so that everyone can add items to it.

For even more convenience, you can also use your voice assistant on your device, or a Google Home device, to add items to your shopping list. This means that whenever you think of something you need, you can easily add it to the list without having to use your phone or laptop.

Using a shared grocery list can save time, money, and hassle. So if you’re looking to make your weekly shopping a bit more organized and efficient, give it a try today!

An interesting tip for using your phone is the ability to long press icons. This feature makes it easy to access extra settings and functions of your phone and apps quickly.

Long pressing an icon on your phone is a simple task. All you have to do is press and hold the icon for a few seconds, then a menu of options will appear. From here, you can access features such as app info, uninstall, disable, and more. This makes it easy to quickly adjust settings on your device without having to dive deep into the settings menu.

Long pressing icons can also be useful for quickly accessing the app’s settings. For example, if you long press a messaging app icon, you may be able to adjust settings such as notifications, sound, and more.

Long pressing the camera icon can give you quick access to take a selfie.

Finally, long pressing the home screen icon can be used to access the system settings. This makes it easy to quickly adjust your device’s settings without having to dive deep into the settings menu.

By long pressing icons on your phone, you can quickly access various settings and functions of your device. Join us for more tips and tricks on Saturdays from midday to 2pm streaming online at hfm.radio
